How to Prepare for Prison | Prison Tips


How to prepare for prison is question asked by many people about to be incarcerated. I am a Prison Preparation Consultant and I offer services about the many facets of imprisonment. Today, I will give you a few prison tips and explain how you can go about getting ready for an upcoming jail term.

         
How to prepare for prison begins by calling your local county jail and get connected with the “package room”. Inquire about any articles permitted, and see if you can either
A)     Bring with you when you start your term.
B)      Have a package mailed to you when you are fully processed and in a housing location. 


Different states have different policies and regulations are constantly changing. Since there is nothing set in stone, here are brief prison tips as a guideline for possible permissible items.
A)     All towels underwear must be fully white and still in its originally sealed packaging. (Boxers, briefs, T-shirts, socks, thermal tops/bottoms) 
B)      All sweatshirts and sweatpants must be fully white/ grey and must be brand new with no drawstrings or pockets.


Every facility is unique in its own way so be make sure you contact them first. Correctional staff appreciates the inquiries because it makes their job easier. They can simply tell you and it saves them the effort of scanning/processing/mailing your rejected package back out. An easy phone call can get all your questions answered and save you money and wasted time.
